Gas Barbecue Versus Charcoal - Let Your Taste Buds Settle It

There is something about cooking outside over a fire that gets the blood pumping and the taste buds puckering up. Unless you have the capabilities of cooking over a campfire, there's a multitude of different types of barbecue grills available for you and your preferences as to what barbecue you like will dictate which barbecue you buy. While a lot of people enjoy the yeast of cooking that gas grill can give others really enjoy the smoky taste that a charcoal grill can only provide.

Options for Your Gas Grill

Propane is the primary fuel for the gas bbq grill and is quite easy to operate with just a touch of a button and a few temperature controls. During the course of a busy week, it would not take long to grill via gas because you would not be preparing the coals like you would with charcoal, plus your hand would not get dirty either! Just by simply making a few adjustments of the temperature controls your food cooks a lot more evenly that will over a charcoal fire.

Some homes that are heated using natural gas have built-in barbecues, and this is the only time that natural gas can be an option for your grill. Little maintenance is necessary for the natural gas choice as you do not have to get tanks refilled occasionally like you would with the propane bbq grill. There is a small drawback to using gas grills, as some of the heating parts have a tendency to break down after a while and need replaced. Valves, temperature controls and even igniters that help to light the fire in the barbecue pit could potentially need replacing at some point.

Options for Your Charcoal Grill

One of the real pleasures in my opinion of charcoal grilling is the distinct flavor that attached your meat and other foods and many outdoor chefs agree with me on this, and in my opinion it is well worth the extra work it takes in cleaning up the ashes and making a fire.Another added benefit is that most of your charcoal barbecue grills don't have extra parts that are going to have to be replaced. Charcoal is relatively inexpensive, although extremely dirty but you do not have to worry about gas leaks or refilling propane tanks.

Portability

If you plan to go camping, tailgating or indulge in any other outdoor activity that just begs for barbecuing, consider a bbq grill you can transport around. They make some pretty nice charcoal grills and gas grill options that are very portable and which you can take virtually anywhere. When you're looking at buying a barbecue grill you're simply going to have to let your budget and your taste buds be your guide.
